Seeking your photos to salute "Our American Soldier" during Sharpie 500 pre-race ceremonies

As Bristol fans, you know audience participation in pre-race ceremonies is a tradition here at "The World's Fastest Half-Mile." You also know patriotism often plays a role. As a salute to our nation and the men and women of our armed forces, we're preparing a video tribute featuring the song "American Soldier" by Toby Keith and we need your help.

We have Bristol fans who are veterans and many who still actively serve. Many fans have loved ones currently overseas protecting our freedom. Some have even made the ultimate sacrifice defending the Red, White and Blue.

We cannot think of a better way to salute "Our American Soldier" than to feature military service photos of you or your family members who have served, or currently serve our nation proudly.

To that end, we're requesting you e-mail a photo of you, or your family member in uniform, either formal or candid, to photo@bristolmotorspeedway.com. Please limit your e-mail to just one photograph. Please make sure the individual in the photo is in uniform. While we cannot promise all photos submitted will be included, we will try to incorporate as many of them as we can into the video tribute. Photos must be submitted by 5 pm on Friday, August 14.

Thanks for your help in advance and God Bless America,

Bristol%20Motor%20Speedway

This will be an awesome tribute Ben! Can't wait to see it in person. Sent a picture of my Uncle Sam(I know but his name really is Sam LOL). He retired a few years ago after 27 years of service in the Army.

Thanks beiter. It will be a good one. We started out with just the song, but I thought using "soldiers" with a real Bristol connection would be awesome.

Thanks Ben and all of the BMS staff

Dear Lord. While I realize you have a GREAT sense of humor, I was hoping that this year you could find someone else to use as the punch line. Amen.

This my fellow Jellovillians is what separates Bristol from the rest as far as patriotism goes! They are head & shoulders above the rest!

Ben - this is an awesome idea! From an old Army vet - thank you for keeping the troops out in front of everyone!

Ben,
Do you know about what time this will take place? Will be at the race and want to make sure I set the dvr far enough in advance of race time to get this (if I get lucky enough for television to show it)

Ben,
This is an awesome way to honor those who serve our country, past and present.  I sent a picture of my husband taken while serving in vietnam.  He is always amazed at the patriotism and respect for our country shown at the track.

My dad's picture was also used. I emailed the track and requested they link the video on their website or upload it to youtube.

Putting it on the website or YT would be great. It was great tribute! I was a little disappointed because we sent two pix in of family members and didn't see them. But I am sure they more pictures than time allowed. Still was a powerful salute though!
