I am really happy for Tyler and his lovely wife Sarah on this move.
He now has a genuine opportunity to play on a team with play off potential.
Deep inside, I was hoping that the 49ers would have picked him up but at least this is a positive move for him.

Jim, I read it was a 1 year deal for $810,000

Here are a few more details on the move from the Carolina Panthers to the Colts.

Panthers released DE Tyler Brayton.
They weren't willing to pay his $3.5 million salary. The 31-year-old Brayton is known as a power end, but he wasn't a high-impact run defender last season and had zero sacks in 14 starts. Maybe Al Davis will give his old-first round pick a ring. Davis made Brayton the 32nd overall selection in the 2003 draft. Jul 29 - 5:34 PM

Colts sign DE Tyler Brayton

Associated Press

ANDERSON, Ind. -- The Indianapolis Colts have signed free agent defensive end Tyler Brayton.

Coach Jim Caldwell says the 6-foot-6, 280-pound Brayton gives the Colts depth and experience. Since the Colts reported to training camp on July 31, Indy has signed four veteran free agents -- defensive end Jamaal Anderson, linebacker Ernie Sims, defensive tackle Tommie Harris and now Brayton. All four are former first-round draft picks.

The 31-year-old Brayton was drafted No. 32 overall in 2003 by the Oakland Raiders before leaving for Carolina in 2008. In eight NFL seasons, Brayton has 229 tackles, 151/2 sacks and one interception.

Indy released defensive tackle DeMario Pressley to make room for Brayton.

If it feels like it's going side ways... IT IS!
